Analysis of Film Title Sequence- Skyfall

James Bond's Skyfall opens with the main character drowning into a a hole which leads to the audience into seeing illustrations and images of guns, knives, flames, graveyards and more. The idea of the main character falling into the hole is as if the audience is absorbed into the characters lifestyle. The audience is also introduced to other characters in the opening such as the Bond girls. The special effects and Computing Generated Imagery in this title sequence is effective as it sets up the plot of the story and helps the audience to understand the genre of the film;one example is the images of knives,guns and flames which are usually associated with action and thriller. The use of dark colors (use of black and red) and shadows creates a mysterious and dramatic tone. As a lot is going on in the film opening, it is difficult to catch the title credits, however the title of the film is very clear. The song choice matches the sequence as they are both intense and dramatic.
