my favourite film is death note and the title sequence is extremely interesting due to the weird twisted plot of the story the title sequence just increases the mystery of the film. the title sequence has cuts from the film in it and has notes popping up on the screen which completely intercept the title sequence. and flashes back and forward from someone's hand writing in the notebook an then peoples mixed views on this so called KIRA the main character of the story there are police and flashing lights meanwhile the rules of the notebook are being red out over the sequence, then we see an "L" pop up on the screen and a voice which says something, it has found out a big mystery in the plot which then introduces the constant conflict between the main character Yagami Light (KIRA) and the detective L now because this is based on an anime many people would have seen people automatically have high expectations for the film and understand the plot and the title sequence plays on this and uses the viewers pre-existing knowledge to make the title sequence better. music then starts to play and we are further introduced to L and he says "he is most likely kira" which builds on the viewers knowledge of L's intellectual superiority in the film. the characters names are introduced as the rules still pop up on the screen, we hear twisted ideals as Yagami Light says "I am righteous" he believes he is absolutely correct and that he is the law and L says "I will definitely win" and we are introduced to the battle between geniuses it then ends with the chuckle of a death god and states "humans are interesting" which makes us believe this may be bigger than all of them.
