The use of Sound in a Film Opening:
The Taking of Pelham 123;
In this title sequence the sound played a very important part. The sound was the main reason in which the genre was predicted. Without the sound there would be confusion as to what the genre of this film is and what the jump scenes are for. The ambient sound gave the sound of a busy street and the sound of the moving train suggested it was a train station in which the film is located. The music gave an action feel to it because it was very fast paced and a little aggressive. There was also dialogue present in the title sequence which gave a quick introduction to the people taking's personalities.
